The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is raced at the Baku City Circuit on the streets of Baku. It was first introduced into the F1 calendar in 2016, and it is a temporary track. It is typically raced in late April and it is the only race on the calendar that is below sea-level.

The track is low grip and has many tight turns and very harsh barriers. It is a high speed track with drivers at full throttle for 75% of the lap. There is currently no most successful driver at the track with each race so far being won by someone new. The four current winners are Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Lewis Hamilton, and Valtteri Bottas, in that order.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is set to return in the 2021 season as the sixth race on the calendar in early June.
